Focus on what you can control

In a culture of constant news, notifications, opinions and headlines it can seem almost natural to want to focus on things outside of our area of power and influence.

When we do this, not only do we deplete our internal resources trying to exert influence over things that we have little to null control or power over, but we are also missing out on the amazing opportunity to make an impact and to influence in tangible and unique ways.

Whether that is focusing on our next task or deadline (actions), on our self-talk (thoughts) or on our reactions and perspective (attitude), being aware of where we are placing our focus and energy and making the effort to direct them towards the things we do control as opposed to the things we do not, can mean the difference between living a life of stress, frustration and burnout or a life of flow, empowerment and wellbeing.

Do yourself a favour and focus on the things you can control.
